ColonialWebb Plans to “Dig” Clients Out of the Recession

Richmond, January 4, 2010- ColonialWebb, one of the largest mechanical, electrical and plumbing service and contracting providers in the mid/south Atlantic has recently announced the formation of a new energy solutions division.

“Green Energy Solutions” combines ColonialWebb’s vast industry knowledge with a core focus on energy efficiency. The new division will provide customers with an all-in-one solution for lowering facility operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The Richmond-based company will offer its complete mechanical range of capabilities to building owners and managers from Washington, DC to South Carolina. These factors, as well as their ability to self perform all work, enables Green Energy Solutions to act as a single point of accountability for clients.

Although ColonialWebb has always offered customers energy efficient technology and building upgrades, they feel it is time to offer a complete package. Today’s building owners and managers are feeling the consequences of growing energy costs and lowered operating budgets due to the recession.

Gary Warness, Executive Vice President of Services, says “Green Energy Solutions was formed to offer clients a way to lower their energy usage through improvements that are no-cost, low-cost, or pay for themselves with their savings.”

ColonialWebb has developed a comprehensive building auditing system called an Energy Dig. Designed and implemented with collaboration at its core, the Energy Dig is unique to the mechanical sector. Instead of performing the energy audit with only ColonialWebb’s specialists, the building’s management, maintenance staff and tenants are encouraged to participate. The building’s management team and occupants have the best knowledge of how things operate and can often point out waste missed by outside auditors.

“Paying attention to observations from people who actually use the building gives us an insight deeper than we would ordinarily have. Their awareness, combined with our expertise on energy conservation methods produces powerful results for our clients,” said Ray Battani.

The company notes that the work does not stop with the identification and implementation of energy savings ideas. If people do not make energy conservation part of their everyday life, the facility will remain inefficient.

ColonialWebb teaches tenants, employees, and managers simple energy saving methods based on the unique needs of their building and environment. Customized energy savings facilities maintenance plans and ongoing commissioning programs are also developed for the facility to maximize savings.

Whether in good economies or bad, waste is waste. ColonialWebb continues to pursue innovative ways to help clients turn their wasted energy into real bottom-line dollars.
